Take a walk to the ruins of the 19th century gunpowder factory that gave the pottery its name.
Visit nearby Postbridge, buy an ice-cream from the village shop and dangle your toes in the East Dart, or play pooh-sticks under the medieval clapper-bridge.
Bring your boots and walk past sheep and ponies to ancient woodland, prehistoric standing stones or to the top of a tor.

| The Weather at PowdermillsThere is a weather station at Powdermills, owned and run by our neighbours, Dartcom Ltd. Parts of Dartmoor are surprisingly high, up to 2000ft (we're at an exposed 1300ft), and have a climate which differs a lot from the Devon low lands.
